Lower and upper casing are made of mild steel, turbine and propeller of non-ferrous metal. The propeller runs in a non-ferrous ring and the turbine wheel in a non-ferrous housing with a soundproof cap. A guard protects the inlet of the fan. A carrying handle is fitted for easy transport. Lubrication of the bearings is not necessary.

    Gasfreeing of ship's oiltanks when tankers are in ballast before being cleaned (with two or more fans on board, tankers can be gasfreed in six to eight hours): gasfreeing of pumprooms. Removal of welding fumes from the fuel tanks or double bottom tanks. Supply of cool moist air to enable the crew to enter the tanks quickly after hot water or steam cleaning. Provision of fresh air when painting the tanks.
